FARM PRODUCE

FARM PRODUCE
My goal for myself and my family...is to grow old without the ailments normally associated with aging, and without the need for pharmaceutical drugs.

This blog is where I describe the things I am doing to achieve that goal.

One of my biggest challenges is cooking tasty food using healthy ingredients and processes. Most recipes don't, so I "hack" them.

NOTE: The recipes I post are for experienced cooks. Many of them were developed by someone else (I post the link) and I have modified them to eliminate the ingredients and processes I don't want to use.

I am slowly adding the recipes in the RECIPE tab. If you can't wait...please contact me.

EXERCISE

If you've read the book, "Sitting Kills." then you know that the healthiest 'exercise' is ... standing. Yes, standing in front of a sink washing dishes. And, squatting to put those dishes away; and, stretching to put the glasses away; and, crawling to find that onion skin you dropped; and, walking behind the vacuum.

Truly, what we call housework is the best exercise you can do for your health! When we built my kitchen, I didn't put everything at waist level. I intentionally put some things high so I would have to reach, and some things low so I would have to bend.

In other words, preparing healthy food is as good for you as eating it!
